The Bulldogs provide tackle football for Atom, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget football players who live in Calgary south of Anderson Road and west of MacLeod Trail. The Bulldogs are one of the most successful football programs in Calgary with a Provincial Championship, three Provincial Finalist, five City Championship and two City Finalist teams in the last four years.

Welcome to the Bulldogs Atom Football program!

COACH'S MESSAGE

The 2009 Coaching Staff is excited about the upcoming season of football. We will be stressing the importance of fundamental skill development through a strong work ethic and sound discipline. We will be working with the coaching staff of the Pee Wee team to develop a seamless system of Bulldogs football. We will be implementing some new ideas for team building – pre-game warm-ups at our field, bus rides to the games, helmet sticker incentives as well as using the website and Colin’s video expertise to provide feedback to the athletes.

Athletes will be given the opportunity to practice all the skills during the pre-season camps and then asked to work on specific skills for one or two types of positions for the season, based on the coaching staff’s assessment of the athletes’ abilities, aptitude and physical fitness.

Atom football is a non-competitive league, therefore scores and standings are not kept officially. Win or lose, we want to make each and every game a positive experience for the athletes and it will be important for the families to keep things in perspective. It is our goal for the team to run a variety of plays; both passing and running throughout the season. It is our expectation that the team be able to perform the skills to execute the plays and know their respective assignments for each play. Our team’s success will be measured by the smiles at the end of the season… coaches, athletes and parents.

Co-head coach – Atom football
